Charros
Location
Mexico
Year
2010 - 2012
“The horse reveals what the horseman knows,” says Alejandro Pedrero, born into a legendary charro dynasty. Lean, precise, and patient, he moves through the stalls of Las Cajas like part of the herd. Horses whinny at his approach, sensing his skill, his rhythm, his unspoken commands. Hours of training, observation, and quiet mastery have forged a bond between man and horse—a private language, a symbiosis. Alejandro is a true centaur.
Charros were forged in war, honed by sword and lasso. They survived social upheaval, moving from haciendas to city arenas, carrying tradition and pride with them.
“To be a charro is to be Mexican,” declares Don Manuel Vega Diaz Infante. In his finery, with pistol at his belt, he tends fighting bulls, honors his ancestors, and prays to God and the Virgin of Guadalupe, ever grateful for his roots.
