A cowboy becomes one with his work—and above all, with his horse. I set out to capture men and horses perfectly adapted to their landscapes, from the high Andes to the semi-desert Sertão of Brazil, the rolling plains of Texas, and the Canadian winters. Weeks spent observing these partnerships revealed the trust, unspoken communication, and fluid harmony that define their bond. Across the Americas—from Cowboys and Charros to Chagras, Huasos, Pantaneiros, Vaqueiros, and Gauchos—these horsemen share a deep connection with their animals, instinctive, resilient, and at the heart of their lives and labor.
